Let’s grow Caledon’s tree canopy! The Town of Caledon’s 2018 Tree Seedling Program provides Caledon residents with the option to purchase potted trees and seedlings. Since the programs 2002 inception, an estimated 165,842 trees have been distributed to Caledon residents.
“We are excited to continually offer this program to Caledon residents. By making native tree stock and seedling options accessible to local residents, we are encouraging private reforestation and restoration efforts,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “This is one of the ways we are tackling climate change and being an environmentally responsible community.”
The following potted trees and tree seedlings are available through the 2018 program:
· Three types of coniferous (softwood) seedling species include white cedar, white pine and white spruce. The minimum order is 1 bundle that contains 10 seedlings.
· Nine types of potted deciduous (hardwood) species include red oak, silver maple, sugar maple, red maple, white birch, black cherry, red/silver cross maple, white oak and black walnut.
